A Serious Prospect

During the course of the weekend I recieved a phone call regarding what can only be described as a seroiusly fast April 07 Dog who is available to Category 1 Greyhounds should we wish to purchase him.
I cannot reveal the name of the dog for various reasons but can give you an indication of his ability.
This stunning individual has comfortably gone under 28.70 for the 525yd distance and easily broke the 30.00 barrier for the 550yd trip at Dundalk. At Lifford he has broken 28.80 for the 525yd trip and also comfortably gone under the 31.50 barrier for the 575yd distance.
Quite simply this dog is an awesome race dog, who is already proven at the top level.
If anyone is interested in becoming involved in such a serious contender for all of the Category 1 races over here in the UK then please do not hesitate to let us know via e-mail.
The syndicate we are looking to put together to purchase this fellow will be limited to a maximum of 25 members and will include all costs for 12 months involvement.
The cost per member will be a maximum of £750 each, but we are hopeful that we can reduce that cost to around £675/£700 should we be able to make a successful bid.

A New Dawn

Whilst things have been relatively quiet on the racing front over the last couple of weeks it was great to get some good news from over the water in Ireland. Big Chief went to the track to have his first ever experience of seeing what his future was all about with the idea being that he would observe and just get an idea of what was going on. Well things actually turned out slightly different and it seems our fellow at just over 12 months old is very aware of what his job is and proceeded to go round two bends from a handslip with the minimum of fuss. Suffice to say our friends over the water are very happy with him and have said to let our syndicate members know that they should be also.
It is also very encouraging to note that an August 07 pup (Carrigoe Bigphil) out of Droopys Scolari (Repeat mating that produced Droopys Maldini) x Droopys Sailing (Full sister to Droopys Lena) has on his racing debut won by over 7 lengths clocking a sizzling 7.19 sectional and a flying overall 21.39 for the 366 mtr/400 yard trip at Dundalk, which is a good run for any top class dog nevermind an unraced pup! I have always thought this would be a good breeding line and hopefully we are starting to see some evidence that it is going to be, with a bit of luck Big Chief and the rest of the litter can continue to support that theory as well.
Advantage Martti has had a couple of runs at Romford over the last week and is now getting back to something like full fitness. I will let Lance decide where and when Martti runs next but we are now looking to keep him on the go after sorting out a few niggles and hopefully it won't be to long before he fulfils some of the early promise he showed that he had.
Topstar Honcho is not going to make the Peterborough Derby as we hoped as it will come to soon but if everything goes well over the next couple of weeks we will probably look to go to Monmore Green for the £10,000 Ladbrokes Gold Cup that starts on 10th August.
Don't forget to visit our forum and enter the Sky tipping competition as a the Jackpot for the Sussex Cup meeting at Hove on Tuesday July 28th now stands at £250 cash to the winner!
